St. Stephen the First Martyr, teaches us in deed that our response to the Gospel of Jesus Christ will place us in one of two camps: stoner, or stoned. The difference between those two options, for us, points to the most forgivable or unforgivable fact of our existence.

Why does Jesus say that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is 'an unforgivable sin'?

Dr. Patrick Downey is a convert to the Catholic faith from evangelical Protestantism. He is a professor of philosophy at Saint Mary's College and has authored numerous books including Desperately Wicked: Philosophy, Christianity, and the Human Heart. He has a Ph.D. from Boston College and an M.T.S. from Harvard. He and his wife, Lisa, have four daughters. He's spoken four times for Veritas with rave reviews. Don't miss this one.
