Don't miss our Monk's Cellar event in the month dedicated to Holy Souls. We're excited to welcome back Steve Patton.

In 1873 a nun in France began to be visited by a soul from Purgatory.  These visits – which were always enlightening even when they were sometimes sobering – continued until the soul was released into Heaven some seventeen years later.  Under obedience to her religious superior, this holy nun kept an extensive, detailed journal of what the soul from Purgatory told her.

At this workshop Steve will review the manuscript prepared by this nun.  From the presentation you will better understand:

The Church’s essential teaching about Purgatory,
Why we should be grateful Purgatory is there, but also…
Why we should strive to avoid going there,
Why we should pray for those who are there (especially during November)
What constitutes an authentic spiritual life, and
What is the proper place for “private revelations” such as this one.

As always, any young adult (18-39), Catholic or not, is welcome to attend. Thanks to the Monk's Cellar for great deals on AMAZING food. You buying dinner is a good way to thank them for hosting us every month. Drinks are on us. Come early for a good seat.

Steve Patton, M.A., J.D. is the Associate Director for Family and Respect Life ministries for the Diocese of Sacramento.  A former trial lawyer, Steve received a Master’s in Theology from the Franciscan University of Steubenville in 1997 and has been working full time for the Church ever since.  He and his wife, Bridget, attend Presentation Parish with their three children.
