In recent weeks, there has been a media frenzy over Pope Francis' alleged denunciation of capitalism. Some have even claimed that the Pope has endorsed communism. But what is the official Catholic teaching on the human person in relation to the free market? Moreover, has Pope Francis broken from his predecessors on this subject?

Veritas is pleased to welcome back a renowned expert on Catholic social teaching, Ernest Pierucci, who will clear the muddied waters and lead us in a discussion considering questions that face the average working Catholic.

After a hard day of work, do you sometimes feel like you are just a cog in a de-humanizing corperate machine? Catholic social teaching offers a more optimistic view: learn how we are all called to animate the created order as lay persons through our work and how our work should in fact be an extension of Christ's work - in service to God and neighbor.

Please RSVP and share the Facebook invite. Anybody is welcomed to attend, Catholic or not. Free beverages and, as always, thanks to Kilt Pub for hosting us and giving Veritas members great deals on food.
